Market Update - Cape Cod Real Estate

2016 Sales were the highest they have been in many years across the Cape and Islands. The Spring market started off strong and sales continued right through the year. It slowed down a little in the Fall while the election was taking place, as expected. After the election however it picked right up as the economy also seems to, there is much Buyer confidence now. 
 
In Chatham, January 2017 started slow with only 2 homes going under agreement for the month. The arrival of February brought an early spring market however, with at least 12 accepted offers for the month. Additionally, there have been 18 closed sales in the first 2 months in Chatham. With the exception of two major snow storms, the winter has been mild. As long as the fair weather holds out, interest rates remain stable, and there is continued optimism for the economy, 2017 should be a stellar year for real estate.
